Janet Choi
American Express
In the fall of 2015, an opportunity to become the first UX writer at American Express fell into Janet's lap. Janet had been a graphic designer for a decade but decided to take a leap of faith and put her English degree to good use. The discipline was still unchartered territory in many places, yet design leadership at the time knew they needed someone who could write about financial products and features in a way that their customers would understand: free of jargon, clear, and concise.
Being a clueless team of one presented phenomenal challenges, but Janet's dedication to the craft and the company has brought the current count to 7 content designers and 1 content operations manager on a team with over 50 designers. She's currently focused on identifying operational solutions that will create efficiencies crucial to her team's success.
Janet lives in Brooklyn with her two children.

Helena Rodemann
Flo
A content, user experience and product design team leader focused on making the world better for women+.
